Restore Britain donor Miles Routledge hoped for ‘another Hitler’ and posted anti-Semitic remarks

An activist and YouTuber who donated £2,500 to Restore Britain previously expressed hope for “another Hitler” and made a series of anti-Semitic comments online, The Telegraph has reported.

Miles Routledge, who styles himself the “last great British explorer” and posts under the name Lord Miles on social media and YouTube, joined the party founded by Rupert Lowe in February 2026. He paid the sum specifically to enter the party’s Cromwell Club, an elite donor group that requires an annual contribution of £2,500 to support research, outreach, and strategic campaigns.

Restore Britain has confirmed it accepted the donation but later refunded it “weeks and weeks ago.” A party spokesman stated that Routledge “is not a member and has no relationship with the party,” describing the reporting as “yet another failed hit-job from The Daily Telegraph.” The party declined to give further details on the timing of the refund.

Routledge’s comments

In a post on X in January, Routledge wrote: “Hitler was a great man, God bless him. We need another Hitler.” Six months earlier he had declared: “What brings me joy and hope in this world is that by 2039 we’ll have another Hitler to lead another great uprising.”

He has also posted multiple anti-Semitic remarks. One, made days before his donation, stated: “‘Awesome Jew’ is such an oxymoron. It’s like saying ‘loving paedophile’ or ‘peaceful genocide in Gaza’.” In another he claimed Jewish people were “deceiving us about their true numbers,” writing that “there are likely 10x more than they officially admit” and accusing them of hiding statistics “to cling to that ‘brink of extinction’ myth.”

After making the donation, Routledge updated his profile picture to include a navy cap bearing the words “Restore Britain,” explaining: “I support total remigration in the UK so my profile pic will reflect that.”

Background

Routledge, originally from Birmingham, rose to prominence through extreme “danger tourism.” He travelled to Afghanistan in 2021 during the fall of Kabul and was later detained by the Taliban for several months in 2023 before his release. He documents his travels on YouTube and has published a memoir about his experiences. He has a history of controversial online posts, including racist comments targeting Indians.

The revelation comes amid wider scrutiny of Restore Britain. The party, which positions itself to the right of Reform UK and advocates large-scale “remigration,” has faced questions over the views of some supporters and co-founder Charlie Downes, who has been accused of anti-Semitic remarks and of suggesting Nigel Farage had been “bought” by Jewish supporters. Reform UK has said it will not deal with Restore unless Downes is expelled, a step Lowe has so far declined to take.

The Telegraph approached Routledge for comment.
